A Consuming Fire

My new sketchbook cover, some landscapes I sketched out on a recent excursion with Richard Hull and Dave McClellan, and some typography.
I really like typography (mostly inspired by Jake Wyatt and the way he writes in his sketchbooks), and I'm finally experimenting with it more. I'm starting to think I ought to hand-letter a comic to see how I like it. Because I think I'd like it.

The scripture with reference:
Heb. 12: 29 For our God is a consuming fire.

Other choices were:
Deut. 4: 24 For the Lord thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.
^ I really liked this one, but it was kinda long, and a lot of people misinterpret "jealous"

Acts 2: 19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
^ COOL but long, and also violent.

( Scripture taken from the KJV )

You really just can't beat the Old Testament sometimes for powerful symbolic and lyrical content. I like the cover a lot.

SO rad. Love the scripture, love the cover, love the landscapes. Way to be magical.
