This is really fun and dynamic. Perhaps the bee larva could be more plump (plump = cute?)? I don't know if it would add to or diminish but how about the bee's second set of smaller paddle-like wings under the primary pair? Love the foofy bee fur on the thorax...like a lavish boa.
