Peer Pressure Comics!
Wow, have I really not updated my blog in this long? (*If you care why, see below!)
I made a deal with Jake Wyatt, that I would match him page-for-page on his comic "Necropolis." And by matching page-for-page, I mean page-for-comic strip. And also I've missed matching a few pages so far.
SEE BELOW!*
So here is everything I've done so far, in submit order, old to new:
PEER PRESSURE COMICS!
This is what cartoonists do to buy time.
How my apartment looked for a few weeks after moving.
The moment I knew my oven was broken.
Watching a duck burst into flames was probably worth the $16 I paid for it. It was really funny. Also the meat was fine, although the skin was a bit charcoally.
ALL THE TIME.
You know this has happened to you. You know who you are.
*I moved my entire life and all my crap an hour to the south, then found out in two months everyone in our branch of the company is being laid off, so now I have to seriously re-consider my entire life and look for another job (or three), and re-get private insurance that I just cancelled in September.Awesome!

And then a Gladys happened
Hi folks! Sorry for the long times in-between updates, I've been working part time (that's not been going well), while also taking commissions (that's been going... maybe too well?), and also IT'S GARDEN TIME!
I swear that was initially going to be a flame thrower or an axe oh well, accidental riding crops will happen. This girl scares the crap outta me, not gonna lie. BRAIN BABY WHY ARE YOU SO SCARY. Drawn without reference. You can tell where I stopped caring.

The Obama Girls
I can finally post these!
This was the project where I finally learned the value and importance of having good photo reference. (Finally) It really makes the entire illustrative process so much more easy and enjoyable, and as you can imagine, there’s a lot of photos out there of the two Obama girls. And Bo. Thank you paparazzi.
This is a recent illustration assignment for a textbook company. All images © them because this was work for hire. As the textbook has not been published yet I am not at liberty to say who the company is.

On a related note: how did draftsmen and artists ever survive without photoshop?

Pepé the Pampered Pooch
So our tiny family dog got chewed up by another dog about two months ago, so I've been extra nice to the little dork while he's been recovering.
Tegaki Doodle
Because sometimes I develop a masochistic streak and randomly paint complicated things in Tegaki-E. (I did do some level of tracing of an under sketch though).
